Dear Reader,
Participants who shared their lived experiences of domestic, family and sexualised violence, speak intricately about siblings, as children and/or as adults. Some of these insights are featured in this material. The descriptions include examples of creative and resourceful ways to salvage safety for each other or from each other.
We dedicate this material to all the siblings who were harmed or held concern in their heart and mind for the protection of their older and younger siblings against violence and abuse. This is for all siblings who did quiet hidden things to protect each other, who endured humiliation, loss and injury to create safety for siblings. The cost of violence is immeasurable and enduring, yet your love and your actions have made a difference to your siblings lives. We wish this kind of love had never been needed from you.
Our thanks to each person who shared their lived and living experience featured in this material.
